On the far-right, partially hidden behind the brick 'hut'...what exactly is that black and white striped pole? It's bugging me...

It's a fence.
The white parts are the fence bars, the dark part is partly the dark wooden strut holding it to the wall and partly just shadow.
The smallest white part at the bottom is a broken fence bar.
